Total cost is measured against the interbank rate on the day. Quotes change every day: each route page below shows the live comparison, at 100, 200, 500 and 1,000.
What this means in practice
- Western Union had the lowest regular price we recorded on all three routes that day, and the shortest stated delivery time (about 24 hours).
- Wise was the most expensive on all three routes, at 12.5% to 18.3% for a transfer of 100, with a stated delivery of six to eight days. Fees do not scale the same way from one provider to another: check the larger amounts on each route page before deciding.
- Remitly was cheapest on the first transfer from the US and France, thanks to a discount. Compare its regular price before a second transfer.
Wise is the only provider that pays this site a commission. It has no influence on the order of any table: providers are ranked by the amount the recipient gets.
How money is received in Haiti
About 30% of Haitian adults hold a bank account. MonCash is the widely used mobile wallet, and cash pickup remains common. Before sending, ask the recipient how they want to receive the money: not every provider pays out to every method.
Compare by route
Before you send
- Compare the amount the recipient gets, not the fee: the exchange-rate margin is part of the cost.
- Check the payout method: MonCash, bank account or cash pickup.
- Treat a first-transfer price as a one-off.
- The gourde moves: re-check the quote on the day you send.
